1992: Globe Media, Inc.
The largest independently owned advertising sales representation firm in the U.S. - attracts new talent as they open a Miami office. Jill Stone is brought on board to grow sales throughout Florida and the Caribbean. Among Globe Media's brand portfolio - The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Financial Times, and American Express Publishing’s Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine and Departures.
1995: Globe Media names Jill Stone Regional Director
Responsible for sales, oversight and management within Florida and the Caribbean, where she runs the most profitable office in the network.
1997: Globe Media is sold to Publicitas
A multinational communications corporation based in Switzerland, purchases Globe Media. Jill continues as Regional Director for seven years, overseeing the expansive portfolio of U.S. and International brands, and the addition of Latin America.
2004: Blue Group Media launches with American Express Publishing
Together with our founding partner, American Express Publishing, and many talented individuals including Eric Davis, Vice President and Partner, who opened the door to our expansion in Central and South America. Jill credits working for innovators like George Mackin (founder of Globe Media) and a highly talented and respected management team across American Express Publishing (led by Ed Kelly) for her strong foundation of inspired service, knowledge and moxie.
Time Inc.'s management agreement with American Express Publishing was in place since 1994. Making Time Inc. first in line when new government regulations were put into place for the financial services industry following the recession in 2009. American Express is required to sell it's non-banking businesses, and the Publishing arm is sold to Time Inc. In 2013, Blue Group Media is contracted to represent Time Inc., expanding our portfolio to Time Inc.'s travel vertical, with brands like Sports Illustrated, Fortune, Time, Sunset, Southern Living, and Coastal Living.
With the industry merger of all time, Meredith acquires Time Inc. and restructures the company to successfully move forward as the largest Publisher in the world. Blue Group Media's portfolio expands, representing new brands under Meredith Travel Marketing throughout the Caribbean and Central and South America, in addition to our core responsibilities on Travel + Leisure and Food & Wine throughout the region [Florida, Caribbean, Central and South America.]
